Local legends
Corryong is famous as the final resting place of Jack Riley, considered by many to be the inspiration for the hero in Banjo Paterson's poem The Man from Snowy River. Visit Jack Riley's grave at the Corryong Cemetery or learn more about the legend at The Man from Snowy River Folk Museum.
Visit Corryong in April for The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival. Watch a field of talented riders in the legendary The Man from Snowy River Challenge, wander the open-air market, and be entertained by storytellers, bands and folk singers.
Try your luck
Tackle the challenging rapids of the Murray River then relax with something more gentle like raft fishing or a 'family float' trip. While away an afternoon fly-fishing for trout, try your luck at catching the legendary Murray cod at Wawa and Interlard, or take the short walk to the tumbling cascades of Cudgewa Bluff Falls in Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park.

Pick up a map from the Corryong Visitor Information Centre and head out into the remote Alpine wilderness for your own 4WD adventure. Be surrounded by snow gum woodlands and cool, clear rivers when you camp out under the stars, the true high country experience.
Slow it down
Call in to the 150-year-old pub at Tintaldra, a favourite stopover for vintage car and motorcycle touring groups, visit the historic Tintaldra Store built in 1864, or stop by the oldest racecourse grandstand in the state, as featured in the film Phar Lap, at the Towong Turf Club.
Like to hit the greens to work on your putting? Enjoy a slow afternoon on the nine hole course at the Corryong Sporting Complex and then reward your efforts with a cool brew.
