Round out your Daylesford and Macedon Ranges R and R experience with a tour of region's growing legion of breweries, cideries and distilleries. Along the way, sample exciting brews, ciders and spirits crafted with local ingredients, great skill and passion.

Leading the way

Trace Victoria's booming craft brewing scene back to Woodend's pioneering Holgate Brewhouse, housed in a 19th-century red brick hotel. Choose your favourite from a tasting paddle of classic beers using just four ingredients – malt, hops, yeast and pure Macedon Ranges water. Still intrigued? Take a tour of the onsite microbrewing plant to see where the magic happens.

Alternatively, enjoy the locally crafted beers at Tooborac Hotel and Brewery, perfectly complementing the wines of the Heathcote and Macedon Ranges wine regions.

Apple of my eye

High-tail it to the tavern at Daylesford Cider for traditional styles of cider made with English heritage cider apples. Sprawl out on the patio in summer or cosy up with spiced warm cider by the fire in winter. Keep an eye out for live music and events.

Spirits and liqueurs

Need a cure all? Sample a range of gins and 'healing liqueurs' at the Herbal Lore cellar door, housed in the old Daylesford Butter Factory. Or head to Kyneton's Animus Distillery for a delightful introduction to their small batch, handcrafted gin, produced and poured onsite.
